Samsung wants ours to be a world full of widgets, if what we saw at CES and the latest leaks of the purported Galaxy S5 home screen are any indication.
Prolific leaker Evleaks posted the below images on Twitter of an apparent new home screen design that borrows from both the tiled look of Windows 8 and the constantly updating "cards" of relevant data that Google Now users will find familiar.
Evleaks has a pretty good track record, but these should still be viewed with skepticism. The columns of image-heavy cards also bear a resemblance to the new "Magazine UX" that Samsung introduced on its new Galaxy Note Pro and Galaxy Tab Pro enterprise-level tablets at CES. The new tablets feature a similar look with multiple widgets on the home screen and four-way multitasking.
The Galaxy S5 is expected to be revealed in the next few months, and is rumored to come in an optional metal body, and with next generation specs and perhaps a couple of new features that could blend cool with creepy in that inimitable Samsung style. We'll see if we get some wacky widgets to match.
